Bengals rookie Ja'Marr Chase had a concerning amount of drops this preseason, both on the practice field and in games. He's fully aware of how much he sucked and he knows the cause of his issues.
Chase said a lack of concentration, sitting on his butt the whole year and that he can't see the bigger NFL football because it doesn't have white stripes on the side all played a part in his drops problem.
From Bengals:
"The ball is different because it is bigger," Chase said. "It doesn't have the white stripes on the side so you can't see the ball coming from the tip point so you actually have to look for the strings on the ball at the top, which is hard to see because whole ball is brown and you have the six strings that are white. But for the most part, just have to get used to it and find out what I am comfortable with catching."
Oh, is that all? You can't see the football? Nothing to worry about here Bengals fans. Your first-round pick can't catch an NFL football because he can't see it.
We could very well have a bust on hands here...
