It certainly appears as if he did....
31-year-old linebacker Kyle Van Noy has spent four and half of his eight seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots, including the 2021 season. He's had some of his best seasons in the league with the Patriots and has two rings to show for it.
Last month Van Noy signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. He talked about his decision to head out west and praised his new head coach Brandon Staley, which also sounded like some shade towards his former head coach Bill Belichick.
Van Noy pointed to the foundation the Chargers have at the top then praised Staley, "I've been a fan of him for a while," Van Noy said. "He's a good person too. … It's refreshing to have a young coach with his mindset to lead a team and to be around him and really, truly feed off that."
Yikes. It certainly sounds like Van Noy is calling Belichick old and out of touch. Maybe some, including me, are making too much out of it. Former Patriots players love the winning and are very split on how Belichick goes about getting those rings.
Van Noy will probably end up as an assistant coach in New England when Belichick is like 100.
