The Cowboys season ended on a bizarre couple of plays. The last official play was a quarterback draw with 14 seconds on the clock and no timeouts.
After Dak Prescott slid down the Cowboys lined up to run another play without letting an official spot the ball. By the time the official did spot the ball and the Cowboys snapped it there were zeroes on the board.
The officials correctly said the game was over and made their way to the locker room. A couple of salty Cowboys players followed closely behind them.
Upset Cowboys fans threw trash at the officials and a couple of players were caught in it as well. After the game Prescott was made aware of what had happened and initially wasn't cool with the trash throwing because he thought the fans were throwing the trash at players.
When the Cowboys quarterback found out it was at the officials he applauded the move.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott disparaged fans for throwing bottles, debris at players. Then Prescott was told the fans were aiming for officiating crew. Prescott retracted. “A credit to them then.”

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott: “The fans felt the same way as us. I guess that’s why the refs took off and got out of there so fast. I think everybody is upset with the way this thing played out.” https://t.co/39p4x4itkE pic.twitter.com/bj1nHCuIfu

The 49ers came out and put it to the Cowboys. Dallas was on their heels the entire game. The fact that the game came down to one play the way it did is a miracle.
The fans should have been throwing things at their trash team not the referees.
