The off-season hasn't been one filled with joy and happiness for Dak Prescott. While he did make his relationship with girlfriend Natalie Buffett Instagram official, he also suffered a big loss in his life.
Prescott’s 31-year-old brother Jace committed suicide back in April. The Cowboys quarterback and his older brother Tad opened up about their loss on "In Depth with Graham Bensinger."
Dak thinks taking care of their mother during her battle with colon cancer likely took a toll on him.
"He saw the times where she would have to spend probably 10-plus hours throwing up and saw the medicine she had to take. It’s almost, you can’t even put into words, the burden. I mean, it’s something only Jace knew. And he didn’t necessarily share that."
Suicide is one of the adverse side effects of lockdowns during this pandemic. People are isolated and in some cases alone with their thoughts and feelings.
Who knows if Dak's brother would have committed suicide if he wasn't locked down. But he definitely wouldn't have been forced to stay home.
Dak's got a lot to play for this season. Good thing the NFL gave the Cowboys an easy schedule this season.
