Saturday’s Clemson and Florida State game was canceled three hours before kickoff due to the positive test of a Clemson backup offensive lineman. The players and coaches wanted to play the game, but nonetheless the game was not played.
So who is to blame for the game not being played?
According to Clemson head coach, the Florida State administration is to blame. He trashed them on Sunday and said that COVID was used as an "excuse to cancel the game."
From ESPN:
"This game was not canceled because of COVID," Swinney said. "COVID was just an excuse to cancel the game. I have no doubt their players wanted to play and would have played. And same with the coaches. To me, the Florida State administration forfeited the game."
I love it! Dabo isn't putting up with the overreaction to COVID-19 when it comes to young, healthy athletes.
The numbers are overwhelming in terms of the virus not doing much of anything to them. If they want to play, let them play. They're not at risk.
