Are the Seattle Seahawks in or out on Baker Mayfield? If they're out, were they ever in?
As it stands at the moment there doesn't seem to be a ton of Mayfield to Seattle momentum. But that wasn't always the case according to NFL insider Josina Anderson. Another NFL insider has conflicting information on Seattle's interest.
On Tuesday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said on "The Pat McAfee Show" that the Seahawks never showed much interest in trading for Mayfield. He dismissed the trade talk as an internet rumor.
"There are a couple of times a year where you get an internet rumor that takes on a life of its own. And believe me, I always check. But I've heard nothing to corroborate Baker to the Seahawks at all. It seems crazy to me, but they have never really been that interested in Baker."
Josina Anderson called the Seahawks never showing strong interest in Mayfield inaccurate. She then listed a few reasons why this is coming out about the Browns quarterback now.
This is inaccurate. Though I can see why it may be necessary to float this now: 1.) In case the Seahawks don't get Baker Mayfield. 2.) Because if #1 happens, it helps to manage the path ahead with their current situation. 3.) They still trying to figure out how I know/ heard ! https://t.co/Ei0mqHsoLL

Nothing better than a little insider battle in early July to let you know the football season is almost here. Any team in need of a quarterback and not trading for Baker Mayfield doesn't really want to win.
The Seahawks aren't alone here. There are a few teams who could use a new quarterback that aren't, for whatever reason, trading for the former No. 1 overall pick.
