Chuck Liddell Released a Statement on Domestic Battery Arrest, Says He Was the Victim

UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell was arrested on Monday at his California home on domestic battery charges. The 51-year-old was reportedly in a physical altercation with his wife.

On Monday night Liddell released a statement on social media claiming he was actually the victim and volunteered to go with the officers in his wife's place. He says he was trying to keep a "family mental health issue" private.

Let's hope he's telling the truth. I hate seeing former fighters who start losing control as they age. It's truly a sad thing to watch. Not that dealing with the mental health issues of a loved one is any easier, but obviously a former fighter can do some serious damage.
