Based on the state of the world, the idea that SI Swimsuit naming a Rookie of the year seems pretty ridiculous, superficial and stupid, but I SI Swimsuit is doing what they can to stay relevant, to keep earning those ad dollars and to keep their relevance up in an era where they are ultimately not needed.

As part of some marketing hustle they put together a title of "Rookie of the year" for their best newcomers to their magazine and have to pretend it actually means something, even though we all know it doesn't. Christen Harper, also known as Jared Goff's girlfriend got the title with her friend Kate Austin.

A meaningless title celebrating girls who pose half naked in a Sports Magazine, that may have inspired all the bikini shoots that are as good quality as SI Swim, without the jumping through hoops to be selected by the powers that be at SI Swim, validating their existence as women while giving other women a useless dream of being hot enough to be chosen to pose half naked for a Sports magazine.

Yes, I'm hating, but her "acceptance" caption is so over the top, I mean settle down girl, you posed in a bikini, like many other women before her, and to be inspired by swimsuit models is just so weird.

If you think back on all the swimsuit models of the last 25 years, not one of them has done anything revolutionary besides posing in bikini. So the excitement around Rookies of the past, is almost insane.

In 2015, Kelly Rohrbach was the Rookie. What has she done to inspire? 2016 was Barbara Palvin, also not very inspiring. 2018 brought us Alexis Ren....sure all hot in their bikinis but weird to act like they are some kind of heroes.

She can't actually believe what she's saying here:

What an absolute insane honor to be named ROOKIE OF THE YEAR by @si_swimsuit along with my best friend @katieaustin

As a young girl I greatly looked up to the women that were honored with this title. To think I'm in the same conversation as all the incredible women before me gives me chill and inspires me to work even harder and dream even bigger.

So endlessly grateful to be a part of something so big and so important for woman everywhere.

THANK YOU
