Chris Davis and His Terrible Contract Have Retired

Orioles first baseman Chris Davis, who has been out of the lineup all season with a hip injury, announced his retirement on Thursday morning. He and his absurd $161 million contract are finished in Baltimore.

Davis had one year remaining on that deal and will still receive that money. The money will be deferred over several years after he renegotiated a deal with the team.

Imagine renegotiating the final year of one of the worst contracts in history instead of giving the money back that he didn't come close to earning. Carrying around his enormous nutsack must have contributed to Davis' hip problems.
