The city of Chicago, which is a wonderful city, but one that has been getting consistent bad press for the last few years because of the insane level of crime, is trying to keep the Bears at Soldier Field, where they have been playing the last 50 years.
Last year, the team's owners made a purchase agreement for a huge piece of property in Arlington Heights, in the suburbs, where they plan to build a state of the art stadium, entertainment hub and even hotels.
If the purchase agreement goes through, Bears fans will be forced to watch their team 30 miles from their current home.
The team owners seem committed to the concept, but mayor Lori Lightfoot, who creeps me out in every press conference she does, is trying to keep them playing in the city until 2033, which is when their lease with the city expires.
In the desperate attempt to keep the team in the city, they have released three concepts to modernize the stadium to make it on par with the top in the league.
The plan will cost between 900 million and 2.2 billion dollars from tax payers, which I am sure can be put into far better things.
The team's spokesperson has stated that the only potential project they are exploring is Arlington Park, but it that doesn't mean it is happening.
So here are some of the renderings of what could be an updated Cicago Stadium where the team has lived for over 50 years.
