Tight end C.J. Uzomah left the Bengals to join the Jets on a three-year deal worth $24 million. A rumor was started that the reason he decided to join the Jets was to be closer to "Good Morning Football" host Kay Adams.
Uzomah took to Twitter over the weekend to deny the rumors. He didn't join the Jets to be closer to Kay, because he's not in a relationship with Kay. Podcaster Dave Lapham, who started the rumor issued an apology following Uzomah's denial.
Uh… idk what @DLInTheTrenches is talking about. I’m not dating Kay. My decision to go to NY was not about anything other than what was in my best interest for me and my playing career. Respect you, Dave, but had to call this out when false rumors are spreading

My personal life is my personal life. My girl isn’t the happiest about these accusations, though. https://t.co/qUariRCAWl

@cj_uzomah - totally fair, my apologies to you and Ms @heykayadams

I don't blame the podcaster for starting the rumor. He probably heard it from someone and immediately believed it because leaving a Super Bowl team to join the Jets doesn't make any sense.
