Tom Brady will be 45 in August and a starting quarterback in the NFL. He's under contract with the Buccaneers through the 2022 season. Will he be back in 2023? Will he be playing in Tampa?
Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht isn't thinking beyond next season when it comes to Brady. He was asked at the NFL Owners Meetings in Palm Beach about the possibility of signing Brady to a new contract beyond this season.
Licht wouldn't address it.
From JoeBucsFan:
JoeBucsFan.com: Should fans assume that you’re doing everything you can to re-sign Tom Brady for next year and beyond, to give him a long-term contract?
Jason Licht: You know, we’re just happy that we have him back. We’ll see where it goes from here. We’re just happy that he’s going to be playing for us this year. We’ll see where it goes.
It's crazy to think that Brady could continue past this upcoming season, but if we're being honest he likely has at least a couple more years in him. He's still great and still playing at a very high level.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he plays until he's 47 or 48.
