The Denver Broncos just traded for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, but that doesn't mean they're not going to be adding another quarterback to the mix. Possibly the NFL's reigning MVP.
That's the rumor that took off on Thursday night. According to Mark Schlereth, Aaron Rodgers to the Broncos is "as close to a done deal as it can be."
The Packers say they aren't parting ways with Rodgers and Broncos GM George Paton didn't want to talk about a possible deal when he was asked about it.
From Pro Football Talk:
Broncos General Manager George Paton said that he wanted to keep focus on Surtain when asked about Rodgers at a press conference, but he did find time to say the team is happy with Drew Lock and the recently acquired Teddy Bridgewater.
“Drew’s been working hard every day,” Paton said. “Teddy’s going to bring some experience to the room, some leadership. So we’re really excited for both quarterbacks. We’re always looking at every position and quarterback’s another one, but we like the two we have.”
We've all seen this song and dance before. A disgruntled player wants out, the team says they're not trading him and the player eventually ends up on another team.
If shit has really hit the fan in Green Bay. Rodgers will eventually get his way.
