Bible Study with McKayla Maroney!

McKayla Maroney is the viral gymnast from many Olympics ago for making a silly face.

The propelled her to super internet stardom and mainpage news, which eventually led to her being sexualized by the media before turning 18.

We eventually learned that being sexualized before the age of 18 was something that she had experienced in her training to be the Olympian because of that horrible US GYM scandal.

She became an early content creator and influencer from leveraging that viral fame, but eventually stopped. There was that scandal, health issues and other things more important than being an influencer I guess.

In recent years, she has found God, which is always a positive thing, so she shares some uplifting and inspiring messages like Corinthians 12:9, which reads:

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness". Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Paul begged the Lord 3 times to take away the thorn, and God basically just said no in the prettiest most edifying way possible.

I’ve definitely been there. I’ve prayed many times for things in my life to be healed or removed just for God to say, trust me. God a lot of times will leave this ”thorn” to keep us in a consistent state of needing Him. This weaker state can be painful, but God is always using it for a bigger purpose.

He promises us that he has GOOD PLANS for us, plans for a hope and a future and not to harm us. So it’s our job to trust His plan. That’s why everyday I pray for God to fill me with His hope and strength…. because trusting the process can be a test in itself.
