COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Tex Hollywood - April 2, 2024
One of the most important event in women's sports of the year happened last night.
The LSU Tigers took on Iowa for a College Basketball rematch for their conference title. The reason it's a big deal is because last year, the top player Caitlin Clark lost to LSU in a game that made Angel Reese a super star, a viral sensation, a money maker as she smack-talked aggressively along the way. People loved it and brands in turn loved her.
The success hit Angel Reese hard and made her a rich woman, which may have taken away from her need to perform at last nights game, but Clark came in focused and ready to win because clearly she takes her basketball seriously rather than buying into her celebrity.
At the end of the game, the due hugged it out in what isn't typical post game handshake etiquette, but clearly the competitors appreciate each other and their rivalry. It's good for business!
A lot of respect between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. Fierce competitors. They’ve made the game better. pic.twitter.com/zpgYGytzMk
