Adrian Peterson was arrested on Super Bowl Sunday after an argument with his wife prior to a flight from LAX to Houston. He was initially facing felony domestic violence charges.
Peterson's wife Ashley said of the incident that he never hit him. She suffered a scratch on her hand when the Peterson attempted to remove her wedding ring.
From TMZ Sports:
Good news for Adrian Peterson ... the NFL legend will NOT face felony domestic violence charges, despite initially being booked for the serious charge.
A rep from the L.A. DA's office tells TMZ Sports they've elected not to charge the 36-year-old running back.
But, Peterson isn't totally in the clear just yet. The case will now be sent to the Los Angeles City Attorney ... who could opt to bring misdemeanor domestic violence charges against AD.
As for the alleged incident ... sources tell us Peterson attempted to remove his wife's wedding ring, causing minor marks to her hand.
It's crazy to think that scratching someone's hand leads to a felony charge and an arrest. It's good to hear that the charges will be dropped. Can't we avoid all of that paperwork and wasted time from the jump?
