Following the Packers disappointing playoff loss to the 49ers, Aaron Rodgers answered questions about his future in Green Bay. His answers to the questions make it sound like everything, including retirement, is on the table.
Rodgers said he'll take some time to make his decision, but didn't rule out leaving Green Bay for another team or retiring. He hinted at the possible rebuild the Packers could be going through as they are $40 million over the cap next season.
If the Packers go the rebuild route he made it clear he doesn't want to be part of that.
From NFL.com:
"I don't know. That's a fair question," he said. "Definitely one I've thought about. But there are a lot of decisions to be made. Key players, a lot of guys who played tonight… so many guys whose contracts are up or on the brink or salary cap stuff. So, a lot of decisions to be made. I don't want to be part of a rebuild if I'm going to keep playing. So a lot of decisions in the next couple of months."
The Packers might be forced to rebuild, which means they might be forced to trade Rodgers to a contender. Rodgers better check the division he's headed to before agreeing to a trade. I would hate for him to be exposed as the fraud he is.
