ESPN's Dianna Russini reported that Aaron Rodgers wanted to be the highest paid player in the NFL. She put that price tag at $50 million per season.
That sparked a bunch of debate and caused at least one former Packers teammate of Rodgers to trash him. Nobody, except for Pat McAfee, thought to ask Rodgers if the rumor was true.
Rodgers told McAfee that the reports were "categorically false."
Narratives have gone unchecked for a very LONG time.. I reached AHT to @AaronRodgers12 this morning & asked if he wants to be the highest paid NFL player by a large margin...
"categorically false" was his response#PMSLive pic.twitter.com/OkjJPpoKew

McAfee breaks the whole modern day media machine down perfectly here. I would care more if it was happening to almost anyone else.
The fact that they're putting Rodgers through the media spin cycle is just fine with me. I'm not fan.
