Bri Teresi is one of the many models who has taken on the Golf world because she likes to golf, or maybe she saw it as a good marketing angle to reach upper-middle class audience, which can translate into a more lucrative and high end experience from her modeling. We don't know the back story.

She was a contentious or controversial golf influencer over the last 4 years because she was on the conservative side. She was a MAGA / Trump supporter, she lives in Florida. She has been to Mar-a-largo events. She went up against brands she worked with for replacing women models with transgender models, which is arguably an attack on women.

The things she stood up for were clearly not as outrageous or controversial as they were made out to be, because the majority of the country agree with them, but at the time, it was likely an isolated place to be on social media, filled with hate for going against the machine!
