The KC Chiefs are expanding their network or brand while staying true to their Christian roots by partnering up with Hallmark for some feel good holiday content.
One could argue that the Hallmark Christmas is not very Christian, but it's far more wholesome and heartwarming than if they were to partner up with a horror movie production company or network.
The movie is called "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" and it's not about the Pilgrims first Christmas where native a tribe leader falls in love with a European widow, but it's ok that you thought that since the Chiefs haven't changed their problematic name.
The movie will start Hunter King and Ed Begley Jr. and it will premiere this winter.
The Chiefs say:
"We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this."
"As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences. This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom's energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season."
The movie is set to begin production in July and film in Kansas City, Missouri, locations, including GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (the Chiefs' home stadium.
They went onto say:
"With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations," Hallmark chief brand officer Darren Abbott said in a statement. "By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community's spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way."
I guess it only makes sense to expand as hard as you can now that Taylor Swift is the prime WAG and Cheerleader for the team, which is huge.
Here is team owner Gracie Hunt being great, some good old fashion family values.
