Tahitian Surfer Protesting $5 Million Olympic Tower!

I've heard horror stories about the Olympics coming in and being one of the most corrupt organizations for the communities that fight so hard to get it. I am sure there's a total underbelly to the construction and development behind every single Olympics, because there are always protestors trying to boycott it.

The 2024 Olympics are taking place in Paris, but France colonized the South Pacific and they are hosting the surf component of the event in Tahiti.

Tahitians have peacefully protested the building of a $5 million dollar aluminum judging tower they Olympic organizers are trying to construct at Teahupo'o, where the event is taking place.

The protesters say that the tower will damage the reef, the ecosystem and even the wave and they don't want it.

Pro surfer Matahi Drollet is going viral because of a video he made about protecting his wave.
