You probably remember the story of Cory Youmans, the Dallas Sports Reporter Bri Amaranthus husband who caught Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run ball on in Arlington, Texas.
Youmans, was sitting in the front row of section 31, the right place at the right time and because of the hype around the value of that ball, he was escorted by security so MLB officials could authenticate the ball. At the time he told reporters that he did not know what his plans were yet.
He was apparently offered 3 million dollars for the ball, but decided to sit on it.
As it turns out, that was a big mistake because he put the ball up on auction and landed 1.5 million dollars for it, half of the original offer.
The reality is, he still got 1.5 million dollars for a baseball he randomly caught, sure it's not top dollar, but it's a hell of a lot of dollars.
This is the second highest price paid for a baseball an I am sure it will go up in value as Aaron Judge keeps bringing the hits over the next 9 years with his 360 million dollar contract!
I am sure his wife is pretty stoked on the money, it's the most wonderful time of year to get 1.5 million dollars for a baseball!
