Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf did not show up to Seattle's first day of mandatory minicamp. He was instead rehabbing from offseason foot surgery in Los Angeles. According to Pro Football Talk, his absence is unexcused. If he misses all three days of minicamp, he could be fined a total of over $93,000.
Can confirm D.K. Metcalf's absence from Seahawks camp is unexcused, per source. Subject to fines of up to $93K over three-day camp. Seattle has maintained that it wants to extend Metcalf but no major traction on that front yet.

Several wide receivers in the NFL have received some big paydays this offseason. Metcalf, who is heading into the final year of his rookie deal, wants to become one of the next receivers to get paid. He's due just under $4 million this season.
After losing Russell Wilson this offseason, failing to reach a new deal with their top wide receiver could make what will probably be an ugly season in Seattle even uglier.
D.K. took a look at the Seahawks' current quarterback situation and was like it's going to take a lot more than $4 million to play this season. If they want D.K. to waste a season or two of his career as they attempt to do a quick rebuild they're going to have to pay the man.
