Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was arrested on Thursday in connection with a domestic violence investigation. He was booked into jail on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree criminal tampering, with a domestic violence sentence enhancer.
Jeudy is reportedly being held without bond. The Broncos are aware of the arrest and have released a statement.
From The Denver Post:
A person commits second-degree criminal tampering if he “tampers with property of another with intent to cause injury, inconvenience or annoyance to that person or to another, or if he knowingly makes an unauthorized connection with property of a utility,” according to Colorado statute.
Jeudy, who was taken into custody between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., is being investigated. He has not been formally charged.
He was arrested on probable cause and there is no arrest-warrant affidavit in the case, according to the sheriff’s office.
On Thursday afternoon, the Broncos released a statement: “We are aware of the matter involving Jerry Jeudy and are in the process of gathering more information.”
As Adam Schefter made sure to point out, Jeudy is innocent until proven guilty. I'm not kidding that tool actually made sure to point that out in his tweet. No kidding Adam, we all know that.
