The wild offseason continues... Deebo Samuel, who carried the 49ers offense on his back all the way to the NFC Championship game last season, has made it clear that he wants a new contract.
The 49ers apparently haven't be willing to offer him one just yet. After doing the whole social media scrubbing a couple of weeks ago, Samuel has now requested a trade.
According to NFL insider Jeff Darlington, who spoke with Samuel, he has officially asked the 49ers to trade him.
Breaking News: I just spoke to wide receiver Deebo Samuel — and he told me that he has asked the 49ers to trade him.
He did not want to discuss specific reasons behind his request, but he has indeed let the 49ers know his desire to leave the organization. More to come.

There were rumblings that this was coming after his brother hinted at it yesterday in the comment section. I'm sure the 49ers think that they'll be just fine with or without him. I have my doubts. The entire offense in the postseason went through him and that's not easily replaced.
Whether he's in San Francisco or not next season, Samuel is going to get paid eventually.
