Derek Carr had a breakout season last year with the Raiders. He hopes to improve upon those numbers after convincing wide receiver Davante Adams to ditch Aaron Rodgers for the bright lights of Las Vegas.
They hope to put up big numbers together for many years with the Raiders. In order to do that Carr will have to sign a new contract. That might be easier said than done.
New head coach Josh McDaniels gave an update that doesn't sound like the two sides are close to another deal.
"I think ultimately, you know, you try to do what's best for the team. I think both sides gotta do what’s best. When we get into those talks with Derek, you know, Derek's going to have to make decisions about what's best for him. That's what each man's right is. At the same time, we've got to do what's right for the team. There will be a sweet spot in there, hopefully, for everybody."

Adams has to be questioning things right about now. He was hopeful to spend a few years with his former college quarterback.... Quit screwing around Vegas and pay the man.
