Bizarre Coin Toss Got the Thanksgiving Day Game Between the Bears and Lions Started

Why would a referee know how the opening coin toss works?  That seems like a ridiculous question, but the bizarre coin toss to get the Bears and Lions Thanksgiving Day game proved it's not.

Watch as the referee asks the Bears if they want to defer after the Lions won the toss and deferred.

Would you expect anything else from the shit show that is going to be the Bears-Lions game?  It's a fitting start to a long afternoon....
