Now I'm no expert on the sideline protocols in College Football, but I have to believe an assistant coach giving a player pills has to be frowned upon.
That's exactly what it looks like happened during Virginia Tech's loss to Notre Dame on Saturday. Virginia Tech quarterback Braxton Burmeister appears to be given something out of a pill bottle by an assistant coach during the game.

Hopefully it was a breath mint or something along those lines. I would think anything stronger than that the school would want a member of the medical staff to handle.
