The Steelers decided to pay T.J. Watt on Thursday instead of starting the season without their star pass rusher. And pay him they did. He signed a four-year $112 million deal.
In order for the deal to get done it required Watt to override his agents, who wanted to holdout for more money. The new contract makes him the highest paid player in the NFL.

Steelers’ OLB T.J. Watt overruled his agents who believed they could get more money today, marched into the office of Steelers president Art Rooney and told him they had a deal. Then the NFL’s new highest-paid defensive player excused himself and announced he had to go work out.

Watt was happy to finally get a deal done, as was his fiancee Dani Rhodes. She took to social media to congratulate him on the life changing contract.

Hard work pays off. Watt got engaged and landed a new monster deal in a matter of a couple of months.
Expect him to either have a big year or an injury filled one. His last name is Watt after all.
