Malcolm Butler and Robert Alford are now teammates with the Arizona Cardinals. Back in February of 2017 they were on opposing sides of the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history.
That's right the infamous 28-3 Patriots comeback against the Falcons. Butler was a Patriot and Alford was a member of the Falcons secondary.
The two have talked about that incredible game. Alford revealed to Butler that the Falcons were doing some premature celebrating at halftime before blowing a 25 point lead in the second half.
"I talked to him about it. I asked him if he wanted his ring back. He told me a story, he said he was in the locker room at halftime, he told me he was about to pop a bottle and things like that, it was so funny. And we came back and beat them. I’m just imagining him at halftime. Robert, he’s a funny guy, he’s got a lot of energy, tells a lot of jokes, and he told me at halftime they were in there dancing and hooraying, then we came back and beat them, so I think that was pretty funny."

Celebrating at halftime and then losing the game has to hurt even more than a straight up loss does. It sounds like the Falcons forgot who they were playing and took their foot off the gas a little.
You can't do that in the Super Bowl. Not against Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
