Alex Smith didn't spend much time without a job. He retired from the NFL back in April and on Monday he officially signed with ESPN as an NFL analyst.
According to Adam Schefter, the three time Pro Bowler will appear on multiple shows including SportsCenter, Monday Night Countdown and Sunday NFL Countdown.

You have to ask, with Colin Kaepernick out there available as a former quarterback analyst, why did ESPN sign Smith? It seems like Kap is being blackballed from the former quarterback turned analyst job as well. Interesting...
