The video of White Sox manager Tony La Russa's DUI arrest has been released and it's hilarious. He first says he didn't have anything to drink before failing a field sobriety test and blowing a .09.
La Russa then, while in handcuffs in the back of a police car, tells the officers he's a Hall of Famer before hilariously attempting to smell his own breath. An all-time drunk move.
This is taking baseball back to the days when managers and players were out getting hammered all night after games. A time when telling an officer that you're in the Hall of Fame meant something.
A time when managers and players were throwing punches in the dugout. There were no pitch counts or innings restrictions. It was amphetamine fueled balls to the wall baseball.
If you can't respect Tony La Russa after watching this you're not a real student of the game.
