Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg has battled multiple injuries during his 11-year career. If humans have it, he's injured it. His latest injury is to a tendon in his calf that humans don't need anymore.
Strasburg told reporters that doctors told him he didn't need surgery on the tendon, because the tendon is now obsolete.
From Fantasy Pros:
Nationals RHP Stephen Strasburg told reporters Wednesday that doctors say he doesn't need the tendon he ruptured in his calf.
This means that Strasburg doesn't need to get the tendon repaired. The doctors told him that he'd still "need" the tendon if human beings walked on all fours, but since we're now upright the tendon is obsolete. It's a strange situation to read about, but the good news is Strasburg should be ready to go come the regular season.
How do you hurt a tendon humans no longer need? That's an all new level of injury prone. Strasburg is great when he isn't hurt. Unfortunately for him, he's also great at getting hurt.
