The NHL Fired Referee Tim Peel After Hot Mic Caught Him Admitting to Calling a Bogus Penalty

NHL referee Tim Peel was caught on a hot mic admitting to calling a bogus penalty against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.  The NHL wasted no time in taking action.

They fired his bogus penalty calling ass on Wednesday morning.

Maybe if you're a mic'd up ref, you shouldn't express how you wanted to call a penalty against a team earlier in the game, changing how you ref the rest of the game.

When are professional officials going to learn?  Nobody is watching the games for you.  You miss a call then you miss a call.  Don't go making bogus makeup calls because you have to get even with the team.

I love this move by the NHL.  Major League Baseball could take some notes and start firing bad umpires.  Looking at you Angel Hernandez.
