You read that right, the 43-year-old Tom Brady signed a four-year extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But it's not exactly what it sounds like.
The four-year extension voids to a one-year extension and keeps Brady in Tampa until 2022.
Tom Brady reached agreement with the Buccaneers today on a four-year contract extension that voids to a one-year extension that locks him into Tampa through the 2022 season, sources tell ESPN.

The move defrays cost and clears $19 million in cap space this season. Brady wants to make another run at a Super Bowl with as much of last year's team as possible.
