Former USA gymnastics coach John Geddert killed himself on Thursday just hours after he was charged with 24 felonies, including human trafficking and sexual assault.  The 63-year-old was found dead at a highway rest stop.

Investigations into Geddert started back in February 2018 after complaints about his abusive coaching style came to light during disgraced Dr. Larry Nassar's sentencing hearing.

From ESPN:

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel confirmed that Geddert took his own life Thursday afternoon, calling his death "a tragic end to a tragic story for everyone involved."

Michigan state police confirmed that Geddert's body was found at an interstate highway rest stop at 3:24 p.m. ET.

Well that's one way to settle things.  He knew he was likely going away for a longtime and decided that was the end of the story.

These stories are normally a tragedy from start to finish and this one isn't any different.
