Former Chargers and Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson was found dead Monday morning in a Florida hotel. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
Jackson was reported missing by his family last week. He had been staying at the hotel since January 11th.
From ESPN:
The 38-year-old Jackson was found dead at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the Homewood Suites in Brandon, Florida. Police said there were no apparent signs of trauma and the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.
According to hotel staff, Jackson, who is a South Tampa resident, checked into the hotel on Jan. 11 and had been staying in a room since that date.
Jackson's family reported him missing on Wednesday and a formal report was filed Thursday, but police located Jackson at the Homewood Suites on Friday. The missing persons case was canceled after Jackson's well-being was confirmed.
The two NFL teams the 38-year-old played for during his 12 year career released statements on his untimely death.

We're just scratching the surface as to what really happened here. The fact he had been in a hotel for more than a month and his family didn't know where he was until last week is a little unsettling.
I send my condolences to the family in lieu of thought and prayers.
