After wasting another one of Deshaun Watson's seasons the franchise quarterback is reportedly considering requesting a trade. According to Mike Florio, he has discussed the situation with some of his teammates.
Watson won the 2020 NFL passing title with 4,823 yards and 33 touchdowns. The Texans still managed to finish the season with a 4-12 record.
From Pro Football Talk:
Rumors already are circulating, and we’ve already heard them from multiple different people, that Watson has quietly broached with teammates the possibility of requesting a trade. If that’s happening, it may just be a strategic effort to ensure his views are respected by ownership. Regardless, it raises the stakes and crosses a bridge and potentially sets the foundation for Watson eventually to decide that he’d like to continue his career elsewhere.
Watson needs to get out now. There would be teams tripping over themselves to trade for him. He should have never signed that extension.
