Cam Newton was benched at the end of the Patriots 24-3 loss to the Rams. He went 9-of-16 for 119 yards with a pick-six on the night. It wasn't his or New England's best performance on offense.
After the game Bill Belichick was asked about who would be starting at quarterback going forward. Without hesitation, and with his normal tone and sarcasm, he made it clear that Cam is still their quarterback.

You have to love the fact that Belichick is still Belichick even though the Patriots are no longer the Patriots. His treatment of the media will always be entertaining.
To blame Cam Newton for last night's loss and the struggles of the Patriots offense is ridiculous. They have almost no receivers and the offensive line was completely overmatched last night.
With that said it's also clear that Cam isn't Superman anymore. He might be the Patriots quarterback this season, but it's not likely that he will be next year.
