Doc Rivers didn't have to wait long to find a new job. He spent just three days without a job after being let go following a disappointing playoff run with the Clippers.
Rivers has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal with the 76ers. He takes over a team that is unfortunately getting used to disappointing playoff runs.
The team has some moves to make in order to get over the playoff hump. Could one of those moves be trading Ben Simmons to the Timberwolves for the No. 1 pick so that he can draft LaMelo Ball?
Sports Talk 2319's Rashad Phillips lays out that exact scenario:
Doc Rivers is going to try an trade Ben Simmons to Minnesota for the number 1 pick and take Lamelo Ball in Philly. Good chess move Doc. #TalkSoon pic.twitter.com/G68zZJCCT8

Philly hasn’t had a box office attraction at the PG poison since Iverson. LaMelo brings the fan appeal. It’s a win win for both teams. It’s worth the chance. The Embiid and Ben experiment has ran its course in Philly. #Yoda pic.twitter.com/2b89qjmBsK

It's certainly a move that would make sense for both teams. I'm not sure how much Simmons would enjoy being in Minnesota, but KAT seemed to figure out the off the court stuff.
