Deion Sanders has reportedly been hired by Jackson State to be their next head football coach. The news comes after the Hall of Famer left the NFL Network to join Barstool Sports.
Part of his decision to join Barstool was the fact that they would allow him to pursue coaching at the college level. The hiring of Deion is expected to be made official Monday morning.
From HBCU Sports:
Deion Sanders, a Pro and College Football Hall of Famer, is expected to be named the next head coach at Jackson State, sources told HBCU Sports.
Sources indicated that Sanders, who is currently the offensive coordinator at Trinity Christian High School in Desoto, Texas, where his son, Shedeur, is the starting quarterback, will be named JSU’s head coach.
A press conference, sources said, is expected Monday at 10 a.m.
Sanders surfaced as a candidate for the Jackson State job after the school decided not to move forward with John Hendrick in a surprise move in late August.
Deion on the sidelines at the college level is going to be electric. Let's hope this is just the first step in his coaching career and we get him talking shit at Power Five school very soon.
No matter what you think of him, Deion puts asses in the seats.
