Former NBA player Gerald Wilkins was arrested back on August 18th after an early morning altercation at an Atlanta gas station. The details of what led up to the arrest have now been revealed.
The 56-year-old younger brother of NBA legend Dominique Wilkins got into an argument with a female rideshare driver.
The argument turned physical and Gerald is accused of punching the woman and a man who jumped in to help out.
From TMZ Sports:
We broke the story ... Gerald Wilkins -- younger brother of NBA legend Dominique Wilkins -- was arrested on August 18 and faces 3 criminal charges, including battery.
Now, we've obtained the police report which spells out the allegations against him ... and it's not great.
Wilkins told cops he got into an argument with a female rideshare driver who refused to let him inside her car unless he ordered correctly through the app.
The driver claims Wilkins got so heated, he punched her in the shoulder -- and that's when 2 male witnesses jumped in to break it up.
One of the male witnesses claims he was punched in the face by Wilkins during the melee.
You can see how the argument got started. I mean what 56-year-old is going to know how to use a rideshare app properly?
It's not an excuse for Wilkins to punch the female rideshare driver, but it does explain the origins of the dispute.
There needs to be some sort of geezer instruction manual or something.
