Anthony Fauci Threw Out the First Pitch and It Was Terrible

SJ - July 23, 2020

A masked up Dr. Anthony Fauci threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the first game of the 2020 season between the Yankees and Nationals in Washington on Thursday night.

It was an all-time terrible first pitch, but somehow fitting for the current state of affairs.  The 79-year-old's toss was not even close, it ended up well short and wide of the catcher.

The obvious jokes about social distancing between the ball and the catcher were made on social media.  How could they not be?

The social distancing jokes weren't the only things running through people's minds.

The pitch also reminded everyone of how Fauci and others dropped the ball early on during the pandemic.  He would have been better off throwing the ball underhanded.
