Looting and rioting have raged on in Minneapolis for several days after a video of a police officer using excessive force during the arrest of an unarmed man went viral. The man, George Floyd, died after the officer held him down with his knee on the back of his neck for several minutes.
Protesters gathered in the city the following day. The anger eventually boiled over and what was a peaceful protest turned into rampant looting and rioting that lasted several days.
Unfortunately, small businesses like Scores Sports Bar were completely destroyed during the looting and fires. The bar was set to open this spring prior to the COVID-19 lockdown.
The bar's owner KB Balla, who poured his life savings into the bar, was shown in tears as he assessed the damage done to his bar. The video of Balla's reaction went viral.

A GoFundMe started by Balla far exceeded his goal of $100,000.
There is no excuse for the killing of George Floyd. The officers involved in his death used excessive force and should be held accountable.
But that's not an excuse to destroy property. People like KB Balla are hurt by the rioting and destruction. That doesn't do anything but cause unnecessary suffering for the innocent.
I wish I had something humorous to say on the topic, but there isn't anything funny about what happened here. It's a tragedy all around.
It's a time to come together not burn everything to the ground.
