Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson's first season as a starter ended with him taking home the NFL's MVP. He threw for 3,127 yards and 36 touchdowns and added 1,206 yards and 7 touchdowns with his legs.
That added up to a 14-2 regular season record for Baltimore and a playoff loss in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. So what's the secret to the reigning NFL MVP's success?
Shrimp Alfredo.
That's right. According to Jackson, he eats the meal before every game and has done so since high school.
“Shrimp Alfredo, that’s my meal before the game,” Jackson tells CNBC Make It.
Jackson says the tradition started in high school in Boynton Beach, Florida, when his team would have pasta nights before every Friday night game.
“They say [pasta] helps your brain,” Jackson says.
“I feel like I go out with a level head and I can think” after eating carbohydrates, he says.
Leave it to a football player to use pasta to level his head so he can think.
I have no idea if pasta does anything for your brain, but I love these kinds of football guy beliefs. Jackson's the kind of player you want on your team for sure.
