For a team that made it to the NFC Championship game last year the 49ers have a lot of work still to do before the season started. They still have Jimmy Garoppolo on the roster despite hoping to trade him in order to give the team over to Trey Lance.
To complicate matters even further their best offensive weapon Deebo Samuel wants out. But it hasn't all been bad news. On Monday it was announced that they exercised the fifth-year option on Nick Bosa. A move that will pay him $17.9 million, but will also keep him in San Francisco for the 2023 season.

On paper Bosa will be with the 49ers in 2023. He could pull what Deebo currently is attempting to pull and force his way out of town. For now it's good news.
